OUR STORY

The New Life Tabernacle of Wilson was established in 1988 by the Elder James and Elois Stokes. Over the next three years, the property and building was secured and converted into a church. In the Fall of 1991 Keith Stokes assumed the role of interim pastor. By the Spring of 1992, Keith was voted in as the pastor of NLT. With his wife by his side, and a congregation of twelve, they begin to go forward reaching for souls to be saved.

Believing and seeing what God was doing in people’s lives created a powerful atmosphere of Revival. During the year of 1998 the building and property next door was purchased. It wasn’t long before it was realized that the old building needed to be razed. That was the beginning decision to build a new sanctuary. Miracles continued to happen as anonymous donations began flow in. God sent tradesmen at the exact time that were needed in the process of building. The last financial miracle was a gift offering of $12,225.00 given in gold dollar coins. It was a savings that a person released for the New Sanctuary. That was the gift miracle that put the church into DEBT FREE status.

On March 12th, 2008, during a Wednesday night, a congregation of about fifty people gathered together for the first service in the new sanctuary. Since that time until the present there has been an endeavor to build on a firm foundation.
